Sen. John Ensign has been trying to keep mum on the subject of fucking his best friend's wife, but darn it, that pesky thing keeps coming up.
The latest is that the New York Times has gotten its hands on a buncha e-mails detailing the lengths Ensign went to in order to get the cuckolded husband a job.
This would be old news except for the fact that the FBI is taking a look at whether Ensign broke lobbying rules in trying to steer lobbying work to Doug Hampton, the cuckolded husband. Ensign is claiming he didn't know the work he was trying to get for Hampton involved lobbying Congress.
What's also interesting in the e-mails is some of them show Hampton referring to the $96,000 he got from Ensign's mom and dad was 'severance,' not a 'gift' as Ensign has insisted. This is important because it was never reported as such as would be illegal if found to BE severance.
