Running Away - #426

#426 REP. PETE HOEKSTRA
GOP COCKSUCKER REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE MICHIGAN 2ND

The nice thing about the Hoekstra affair is that after January 2011 we won't have to hear anything from his whiny ass anymore.

The catalyst? The selection of the next GOP candidate for Governor of Michigan. The current governor, Jennifer Granholm, is term-limited as per 2010, which means she can't run again for the seat. Hoekstra wanted it, and entered the GOP primary to get it. He was expected to get 30% of the primary electorate. The result? He got his ass kicked and kicked royally by businessman Rick Snyder, a guy who was making his first foray into national politics. Snyder not only beat a flabbergasted Hoekstra but he beat him by 11 percentage points. Hoekstra kept his cool in conceding to Snyder but the next month, he announced he was quitting congress after serving in the institution for 14 years.

Hoekstra is in the most Republican of Michigan congressional districts but still, had been an embarrassment to people of the Michigan 2nd for more than a decade with stunts such as:

- Announcing in 2006 that we had found 500 chemical weapons in Iraq. (We hadn't. What we had found was some leftover junk already destroyed from the First Gulf War that weapons inspector David Kay compared to Clorox when it came to lethality.)

- The same year Hoekstra created a detailed website that could be used by people in the creation of a nuclear weapon.

- The next year he claimed that Iran was enriching uranium to weapons grade quality in the town of Natanz. This was later found to be wildly incorrect. In order to be weapons grade, uranium has to be enriched to a level of 90%. Iran was enriching it to 3.5%, about 86.5% too low.

- That same year, Hoekstra wrote a letter to GOP Cocksucker #315 (ALBERTO GONZALEZ)
while he was Attorney General saying that giving legitimacy to the Islamic Society of North America was a grave mistake. He was joined in the letter by GOP Cocksucker #361 (REP. SUE MYRICK), the North Carolinian legislator who wrote the forward to Muslim Mafia, a muslim-baiting book that came out two years later in 2009.
