This was the highest ranking casualty of the Abramoff Scandals, until Rep. Bob Ney of Ohio pled guilty almost three years ago, lost his House seat, got to see it go democratic and got 30 months in the Slammer.

Griles pled guilty to lying to congress and trying to obstruct a federal investigation. But like all GOP cocksuckers, Griles tried to blame someone else, even after he'd been convicted. In this case, Griles tried to blame the U.S. Senate even after admitting he was guilty. Judge Ellen Huvelle was not pleased. She may have fallen off a truck, but it was not a turnip trunk and it was not yesterday.

In fact, she was so not pleased at Griles' whining that she doubled the term Griles' attorneys and the prosecution had agreed on and threw his ass into jail for 10 months. She also fined him $30,000. Griles has been out since November and gets to watch new Interior Secretary Ken Salazar try and fix all the damage he caused.
