Knapp got in trouble when his computer went on the fritz, he took it into a repair place and when the repair place got a gander at Knapp's computer, they immediately notified the cops. Armed with the information the repair joint had supplied them, authorities got a warrant to search all of his computer files and found 74 photos or videos of children engaged in sex acts. Knapp was charged on two counts of possessing child porn.

Knapp told sheriff's deputies that he never watched the images but couldn't say why they were on his computer or how they had gotten there. If convicted, Knapp is looking at two to four years and a $10,000 fine on each count. Knapp used to be the highway director for Johnson County until he was elected to the Trafalgar Town Council in 2003.
